title: "slotsbid — auctioneers of attention"
description: "slotsbid runs a creator's sponsor slot — a YouTube video, a podcast episode, a newsletter issue, a stream — as a sealed-bid-then-open auction. Sponsors put down a refundable $25 deposit and file their ad creative before they can bid, the creator approves every ad before money moves, and slotsbid takes 10% of the winning bid only when a slot actually sells. There is no subscription, no listing fee, and no charge for an unsold slot."

## What slotsbid is

slotsbid is a sponsorship marketplace for creators of every kind — YouTube channels,
podcasts, newsletters, streamers, niche sites. Instead of publishing a rate card and
hoping the number is right, a creator lists one sponsor slot — a specific video,
episode, issue, or week — and the brands already in their inbox bid on it.

A flat rate can only be wrong in one of two directions: too low and the creator leaves
money on the table, too high and the slot goes unsold. An auction finds the price the
market will actually pay for that specific slot.

## Who it is for

- **Creators** with at least one recurring sponsor slot and more than one interested
brand. It does not matter what you make — if a sponsor would pay to be in front of
your audience, the slot can be auctioned.
- **Sponsors** who want a transparent, verifiable price for a placement rather than a
negotiated one, and who are willing to attach their creative and a refundable
  deposit up front.

## How a slot sells

1. The creator publishes a slot. It opens in **accepting offers** — sponsors send
sealed offers whose amounts stay private.
2. At 3 distinct verified offerers, the creator can open public
bidding, which starts the clock and reveals the ladder.
3. Every bidder is gated before their bid counts: a linked sponsor account, a paid
$25 refundable deposit for that specific auction, ad creative on file,
whole-dollar amounts, and a bid that beats the current high.
4. The creator approves creatives while the auction runs. Only approved sponsors can
win — a higher bid from an unapproved sponsor is passed over.
5. At close, the winner is invoiced with their deposit credited. If they miss the
48-hour payment window, the slot rolls automatically to the
   next approved bidder.
6. On payment the auction settles, the creator's payout is written, and every losing
   deposit is refunded in full.

## What it costs

10% of the winning bid, taken once at settlement, and nothing otherwise. See
[Pricing](/pricing).
