Questions we get, answered plainly.

Direct answers to the common questions about slotsbid: fees, bidder approval, fake bids, unsold slots, getting paid, taxes, and who can use the platform.

What does slotsbid cost?
Nothing on your sales — slotsbid takes 0% and never handles the money. The platform is a subscription: your first 2 sold slots are free, then $29/month for unlimited slots, invoicing and benchmarks, or $99/month for up to 10 creator profiles.
How much does the creator keep?
All of it. The sponsor pays the creator directly and slotsbid takes no percentage, so a $640 slot pays $640.
Who can use slotsbid?
Any creator with an audience a sponsor would pay to reach — YouTube channels, podcasts, newsletters, streamers, niche sites. There is no application and no waitlist: sign in with an emailed link, set up your desk, and list a slot.
Does it work for YouTube videos?
Yes. A slot can be a pre-roll, mid-roll or end-roll read on a specific upload, or the description link. You name the placement and the date, sponsors bid on it, and you approve the ad before anything runs.
Do I need a minimum audience size?
No. The auction sets the price, so a small audience simply clears at a smaller number rather than being turned away. What matters is having more than one interested sponsor.
Are there fake or filler bids?
No. Live ladders carry only binding offers from signed-in sponsors bidding under a real name, whose ad the creator approved by hand before they could bid at all. Demo pages exist, and every entry on them is explicitly labelled a specimen.
What stops someone bidding and not paying?
Three things. Only sponsors the creator has personally approved can bid, so nobody reaches the ladder unvetted. Every bid is placed as an explicit binding offer to buy at that price. And the winner has 48 hours to pay — miss it and the slot rolls automatically to the next approved bidder, who was vetted the same way.
Can a creator reject an ad?
Yes — and approval now comes first. A sponsor files their creative before bidding, and the creator's approval is what opens bidding for them. Winner selection also skips unapproved bidders as a second line of defence, however high the bid.
What if nobody bids?
Nothing is charged to anyone — bidding was free — and the slot can be relisted. The public page never displays "0 bids"; quiet auctions sit in sealed-offer mode instead.
Can a sponsor bid privately?
Yes. Sealed offers are available at every stage; the amount stays in the envelope and only the offer count is public.
Who handles sales tax and VAT?
slotsbid, as merchant of record. The tax paperwork does not land on the creator.
When does a creator get paid?
Directly by the sponsor, on the creator's own terms. slotsbid never holds the money, so there is no payout queue to wait in and nothing to chase us for. The creator marks the invoice paid on their desk, which is what settles the auction and records the sale.
Does it work on my own site?
Yes. One script tag embeds the auction. The embed is session-free and sets no cookies.
Is there a contract or minimum?
Your first 2 sold slots need no subscription and no card. After that, Pro is $29/month and cancels whenever you like — there is no contract and no minimum term.
Is bidding in whole amounts only?
Yes. Every slot is priced in a currency the creator picks — US dollars, Egyptian pounds, or a Gulf currency — and bids are whole units of it. Partial units are refused rather than rounded, so a displayed amount is always the exact amount.
